Some Christmas Creativity

Image
Hello Friends, Well here it is, the first week of December and before we know it, it will be Christmas. I have 14 more days of work, then it is Winter break for me, YAHOOOOOO! I love my job, however, I love have vacations from the kids at school as well!! So, with Christmas being just around the corner, I am working really hard on my Christmas cards. I figured since I have to make my cards I might as well play along with some challenges. So, This challenge is from "Just Us Girls" Challenge Blog. What a fun challenge this was. I had so many ideas going thru my head. For this card, I used the stamp set, Contempo Christmas from Stampin Up! The paper is from I don't know where??? I have had it in my paper stash foreverrrrr so I thought I might as well use it. I have so much paper that I think I have a serious Hoarding problem. I really need to do some consolidating, Uhhhh, Ya, right LOL!! Then the 2nd. challenge that I have added this card to is Dynamic Duos challenge blog

Hello Friends, How is everyone's week going? I am off of work this week so it is going by rather quickly. Always when you are having fun!!! So, here I have for you a challenge card that I created for Mojo Monday . Dont ya just love it? I used a new stamp set that I received from Scrapmasters Paradise . It is called "In love Emma" I fell in love with her the moment I saw her. I paper pieced her  dress with a 6X6 pad from Echo Park, That is where all of the dp is from on this creation. On the flowers I added some sparkle with Smooch.   I love sparkle! I also added  black nestabling around the larger "Labels Fourteen" I really love how this card turned out. Let me know what you think!!! All for now but I will be seeing you all real soon!!

Happy Thanksgiving and a challenge

Image
First off, Let me just tell all of my friends out there in Blogger land, I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving with friends and Family. It's really funny how fast time flies and the next thing you know, Christmas will be here and gone. I really love the Holiday season. Not even so much Christmas for the presents but just the whole season. With that being said, It is time for me to move on to a challenge that I played along with. I am off all this week, so I am hoping to be able to share lots of goodies with all of you this week. So this challenge was to create a Holiday greeting without using red and/or green. So, this is what I came up with. This was a really simple creation but pretty at the same time. I heat embossed the Christmas tree in Blue and the pot in pink. The stamp set is from Stampin Up! I also embossed the white panel with a snow flake embossing folder. I think the embossing folders are the greatest invention. If you ever need a little something, the embos

Hello Friends, I have been a busy little bee lately but have nothing to show for it. Do you ever have days like that? Busy Busy Busy but not a thing to show for it? I hate when that happens. I have been working on a craft fair that my good friend Polly is putting on, I have created about 100 Christmas cards for it and guess what? I have been taking a 7 week CERT(California Emergency Response Team) course with my son, Brandon and our final class/drill is the same day as Polly's craft fair so, I have to come up with an emergency plan of my own for that day. I may have my mom sit at my table and sell my goodies while Brandon and I are doing our drill.  I better get my rear in gear. ya know, I am a last minute Lucy though. It seems to work for me, LOL! Today I took a class at Art Inspired Studios in Brentwood and let me say, OMG, what an awesome class. It was taught by Suzy West and we completed a Christmas album out of a hard bound book. So totally cool! First off, I hav

Halloween Stamp Camp

Image
Happy October my friends, My , My , My, this whole year is just flying by. Before we know it, it will be Jan 2013. I want it to slow down just a bit.  Tonight was Gina's monthly stamp camp and we created some Halloween goodies. The 2 Frankenstein boxes have a mini Hershey's bar in them, Aren't they just adorable?  The other Halloween goodie is magic pull up goodie box. I think both are just the cutest. For the pull up one we used the Stampin Up! stamp set Googly Ghouls. I love love love that stamp set and I cant wait to create some spooktacular goodies for my co workers.  I am going to make this a quick post as I have a craft fair to get ready for in a couple of weeks and I am working on packages of Christmas cards that I will be selling. I will share all that I make when they are complete.  Have a great weekend Peeps and I will see you all soon!!

Another Sketch challenge, Happy Birthday

Image
Hello Friends, I know I have been a hit or miss all summer long but the truth is, I sit at my desk for hours and have every intention of creating some fabulous to share with you all but I end up blog hopping and copying and pasting and ya know, just searching high and low for that one project that will catch my eye. Well, I needed a Birthday card for my sons Nana and I really really love this lady. She has been the best grandma to my son so I wanted to make her something special. Well, I found this sketch challenge with a twist at "The Sweet Stop" and knew that I wanted to use that sketch to create something fab.  So, the twist was to use die cuts or punches of which, I did. The cup cake is a punch from Stampin Up! and the die cuts are scallop oval nestabilities. I also ised a circle punch to make the half circles, or scallops at the bottom of the striped piece.  All of the designer paper is from My Minds Eye, Stella Rose. The card stock is all from Stampin Up! Whisper

Hello Friends, How is everyone doing? Are you all having a wonderful Summer. I cannot believe how fast it has gone. It is almost time for all of the kiddos to head back to school. My kiddo is going to be a Senior this year.(sad face here) We just got the notice in the mail the other day for his appointment for Senior pictures. I never thought this day would come and here it is. Speaking of Senior pictures, Have you seen how expensive they are? You need to take out a loan just for senior pictures. WOW! Anyways, we have about 2 more weeks of summer break and then it's back to the old grindstone. I go back to getting up at dawns early crack and heading off to work, It has been so nice to sleep in. I am the total night own and really dislike mornings but I also don't want to work at night, I wanna play. That is when I am most creative. Like now for instance, I will be up until mid night just playing, whether it be organizing in my craft room or creating some layout or card. I do

What a cool challenge! Aud sentiment challenge Blog

Image
Hello Friends,  Here I am again with another creative challenge. This one is from Aud Sentiment Challenge Blog . I love this challenge. It was to use a tag on the card and the sentiment was to be on the tag. I love love love working with tags. If there is ever a swap involving a tag, I am all in.. There are so many things you can do with a tag, I know, you can do equal things with a card but I just love the tags. On this tag, I clear heat embossed a tim Holtz image and then I sponged distress ink in different colors all over the tag. I then added the sentiment and the film strip ribbon. I embossed the green panel with a Tim Holtz alterations embossing folder then I ran a Radiant Rain dabber from Luminarte all over the embossed green panel to add some sparkle. The final touch was the washi tape along the edge. I love how this card turned out and I hope you all enjoy it as well.  Let me know what you think!!! All for now and I will be back again to share some creative goodness with

CLP Challenge

Image
Here we have another great sketch from Crafting Life's pieces challenge blog. The image I used is from The Greeting farm, Isn't she just so cute? I colored her in with my Copics in Pinks and blacks. The designer papers I used, Once again, from a 6 X 6 paper pack and this one being from Echo Park. I love the blacks and pinks together. So darn purty!!  You can barely tell, but I sprayed all of my flowers with a coordinating Tattered angels glimmer mist to add some sparkle.  I love sparkle!! I then used the bitty banners from stampin in Happy Birthday and then cut it out with the bitty banners Framelets from Stampin Up! I really really like this creation. The only bad thing about me liking it is, I end up holding onto it when I should be sending it to someone special. LOL! So, there you have it. My take on the sketch from CLP , Let me know what you think!!  Nighty Nights all, I will see you all real soon!!!

A Deconstructed Sketch challenge

A quickie sketch challenge card for you all to enjoy. I found this sketch challenge blog thru   Feline Playful . Oh what a great site. Feline Playful has a daily list of ALL challenge blogs, whether it be sketches or color challenges. It is there.  This challenge is from Deconstructed Sketch . Oh what a great site as well. This was a great sketch and so much fun to complete!!! My image is from CC Designs and colored in using my Copics. The designer papers are from a 6 X 6 pad from My Minds eye. I love love love the 6 X 6 pads. You see, I am a total paper hoarder, so having the 6 X 6 pads saves me on space and also scraps. At least that my justifying it, LOL!! Anyways, I wanted this card to be in summer colors, bright and pretty!  The sentiment is from Stampin Up! Itty Bitty Banners and then I cut it out with the Stampin Up! Bitty Banner Framelets. There you have it, My creation for the Deconstructed sketch challenge . What do ya think? Come back tomorrow to see what other s

Sunday Sketch & Stamp

Image
Here is the sketch for Sunday Sketch & Stamp and below you will see my creation. I hope that I didn't go too much away from the sketch. I wanted to use the flowers which set my greeting a little off to the side. For this creation I used an image from The Greeting Farm . Isn't she cute?I did all of the coloring with my Copics of which I haven't used in quiet some time so it was nice to get back to them. If anyone knows me, they know I love glitter or anything glittery so on the flowers not only did I use Glimmer mist to add sparkle but I also used stickles. I love me some stickles!! I cut out the image and a layering base using Nestabilities Labels fourteen and also stamped the Happy Birthday from itty bitty banners and cut it out using the framelits-Bitty Banners from Stampin Up! The papers I used was a random piece of 12 X 12 from my stash. I also embossed the yoyo yello card stock with my most fave embossing folder, "Swiss Dots" That is always my "Go

I love paper and I have so many 6 X 6 pads and I keep adding. Papers are so much fun. I also finally used one of my new Nesties. this one is by Donna Salazar and you can make 3 different flowers and 3 types of leaves. If you haven't used any of Donna's goodies, check them out. She has so many neat creative tools. The image I used and stamped in Melon Mambo ink is from Inkadinkadoo. Isn't the sentiment just a hoot? Well, I am off to do some more creating so I hope you enjoy my challenge card and I will see you all real soon!!!

A 12 X 12 and a fur baby

Image
Hello Friends, Just a quick post to share a 12 X 12 layout that I have been working on. I haven't been too productive with my card creating lately. I have however been able to create the adorable scrapbook page that I am about to share with you now. This lay out was actually from a kit that I received as a swap. I am really challenged when it comes to colors and coordinating them for pages and cards too but with a kit, it is soooo much easier. Love it Love it Love it! So, the kit is English Rose from Kaisercraft. I added some bling myself and also used a Bazill swirl template to add the pink bling.  The flowers that I added to the corner of one of the photo mats was white but I made them pink with my Tattered Angels Glimmer mist " Pink Cadillac"    I think I am going to use these for my wedding photos.  So, I hope you all enjoy this fun layout and will join me again soon to see what is going on in my little creative world.  As of June 14th. I will be off of work for

Hello Friends, How is every one's weekend going? Mine, so far has been wonderful. I started out by going to garage sales and went to one that was strictly crafting(rubber stamps and supplies) goodies. This garage sale is a yearly thing and it is also a great opportunity to sell those crafting items that I no longer need or have duplicates of and so on. There was so many crafting goodies I had to make 3 trips thru to make sure I didn't miss a thing.  After that it was time to come home and do some much needed laundry & house work. So with all of that caught up, time to hit the craft room and work on some swaps. Well, I completed 1/2 of a swap that I am in on Splitcoaststampers. This is for ATC's. I love ATC's. They are the funnest little pieces of art. This part of the swap is for Embossed ATC's. The dress form is embossed in a burgundy embossing powder. The stamp set I used it called Established Elegance from Stampin Up!  This is for a set of 8+1(the +1 is

Me with the Golden Gate in the background The San Francisco Skyline Steam Train in Tilden Park, Berkely   Happy Monday friends, Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. I know here in Northern Calif. we had 80 deg. days and my hubby and I even made  a day trip to San Francisco and on the way home stopped at Tilden Park to look at the little steam engines. They are so cool. They are real just on a wee small scale. They give family rides and it is just so pretty going thru Tilden on the steam train. We even got some cool pictures of San Francisco in the distance. You would think we were tourists. I have lived here my whole life and never get tired of seeing the Golden Gate or the San Francisco skyline!! So, It was a wonderful weekend. So, enough about my weekend I want to share with you all another challenge card that I finished. It was actually for 2 challenges. The first one being " Color Throwdown " The colors are Certainly celery, Pretty in pink, Melon Mambo &a

Hello Friends, How is every one's week going? It is almost Wednesday and I am so ready for the weekend even though we just had a week off for Spring break. The weather is getting nice and it is staying light later so it is almost Summer time and I can feel it!!  Sooooo, here I am with a project that I have just completed for Swap-Bot . This was to decorate a note book in the "Tim Holtz" kind of way. Well, I am really happy with how this turned out. I added the recipients name to the side and what I did was cut out the letters from a 12X12 piece of Tim Holtz designer paper and I glued them to card board and after I cut them out, I went over each letter with Distress crackle paint in Clear rock candy. The dress form is heat embossed in black and the time piece above it is heat embossed in clear over distress ink in aged mahogany. I added some burlap and some metal clock hands and keys and also that little burlap flower at the bottom of her name. Once I decorated it then I

2 challenges, I'm ona roll

Image
Good evening Friends, Here I am again, 2 days in a row, WOW, I need to keep this creative roll going. The 2 challenges that I am playing along with are, Just add ink and Mojo Monday . I had originally done it for 3 challenges but one of them ended last night and I didn't get it in in time.  Okay, So what I really like about this creation is(and I didn't even realize it until I put it together) is, The sentiment says  "Just a note to say Hello"  and look at the patterned paper that I used. Music notes, LOL! OK, call me a Blondie.  I just had to giggle to myself. So, with that being said, The 2 challenges that I am playing along with are, Just add ink, a color challenge of which we were to use Pink Pirouette, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla & Choc. chip. I actually used all of those colors. I am a huge fan of Pink and Anything so this was kinda easy for me. The other challenge was Mojo Monday which is a sketch challenge.  So, I just had to stop and share what I hav

Finnally, A post

Hello Friends, It has been a long while for me but it has been an equally long while since I have created anything post worthy. I really have been in quiet the funk. Yes, I have created some quickie throw together things on a whim but for the most part, I havent done any challenges or swaps or anything like that. Some of my funk is Blogger. My blogger is a jacked up. I cannot see post options so when I go to change this font and color, I don't even know what I am clicking on. I really wish I was a little more computer literate. So, with that being said, I am posting a card that has actually taken me a few days to make. Mostly because every piece of card stock on it had to dry. I used Tattered Angels Glimmer mist on everything except for the tag. I just got my shipment in from Tattered Angels for My Etsy store and I have to say, Glimmer Mist is one of my most favorite things to use in my creations(minus the drying time)but the stuff is so much fun. Stop by My Etsy store and buy yo

A quickie Challenge card

Image
Your on my mind Hello all, I just wanted to share with you all a challenge card that I just completed. I am having some blogger/computer issues so I need to make this quick before I get another darn error message. I basically used some scrap DP that I had and that I totally love and used some Rose Red card stock and embossed it with my most fave Embossing folder, Swiss Dots, printed out "your on my mind" onto neenah white cs, added some perfect plum eyelets and then added some white/off white bakers twine and there you go. I hope you enjoy my creation and I will try and visit back with you all before weekends end just to check in and say Hi and I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!!

A new challenge

Image
Hello Friends! I hope everyone started of this New Year on a positive note. So far so good for me. I thought it was about time that I completed a challenge card. This challenge is from Scrapbook Stamp Society , I had never even heard of this challenge blog before and when I found it I was like, Cool! I needed a new challenge blog. I have had to delete some of my challenge blogs from my side bar. They have pretty much closed down so I have been on the hunt for some new ones. If anyone knows of any good ones, Please share. One of my New Years resolutions was to work on doing more challenges and being more active on my Blog. I have so neglected it. So, onto the challenge. This one was to use Hearts and Flowers.Well, how easy is that? I think I captured that in my creation.  Basically, I made an envelope from the bigz scallop envelope die. I then punched bunches of hearts with my Nestabilities scallop hearts  dies and also using the Stampin Up! Love you much stamp set and punch.  It'

Valentines is my fave

The bling in the middle of the bows Hello Friends, First things first, I hope you all had a wonderful Holiday and a very Happy New Years! I cannot believe it is already 2012. I only have a year and a half and my only baby boy will be graduating High School. They grow up way too quick. Anyways,  I have been MIA for quiet a bit. Sorry bout that. I have been so engrossed in Swap-Bot. This tag is for a Valentines shabby chic and pink Tag swap that I am hosting. I really really like Pink and Bling  and this tag shows that. It is a #8 size tag and what I did was first did 1 coat of Pink acrylic paint then I did a coat of crackle medium and once that dried, I painted over that with White acrylic paint.  That is also the same thing that I did with the die cut hearts(which are card board by the way). The bow I made was with my wood bow maker. I then added the "bling" to the middle of the bow. Isn't it purty? I will probably be pretty absent at least for the
